Why I LOVE them
They are a San Diego based company getting their grass-fed beef jerky from a farm in Eugene, Oregon. Many other companies get their beef from outside the United States so this is special! Jerky's Gourmet jerky is really succulent, not dry and tough like others on the market and contains NO hormones, antibiotics, artificial preservatives, nitrates or added MSG. This month, I am featuring the Naked Original version because it is 100% gluten free and low all natural sugar. It is delightful with a touch of cayenne pepper to give it a little something extra. We also offer Black Pepper, Ghost Pepper and IPA flavors to really spice things up! Another great fact about this company is it is run by an awesome husband and wife team, Tim & Dria!
More About The Company
It all started when, Tim, moved from the east to the west coast almost a decade ago. He was working with kids with autism and was about to start a career in the public school system. But, working with kids was wearing him down. It was time for something new. It wasn’t long before he met Dria – a third grade teacher who shared a mutual love of beef jerky. She even worked in a beef jerky store throughout high school in Big Bear, California. Talk about a match made in heaven!! She inspired Tim to leave the school system behind to pursue his dreams of being his own boss. Their jerky-loving fates aligned and, together, and they founded their own company: Jerky’s Gourmet.
